Orange peel, lack of flow

Cause

• Too a small nozzle on a spray gun
• Too high viscosity of varnish
• Too a long distance from the spray gun to a varnished element
• Too a small amount of material
• Too a low pressure in the spray gun
• Wrong choice of thinners and hardeners for the material
• Incorrect flash off time

Countermeasure

• Abide manufacturer’s recommendations of spray guns
• Before varnishing check material’s parameters according to the Technical Data Sheet (TDS)

Removal

• Sand the surface with fine-grained sanding paper (1500, 2000 or 2500) and polish
• Sand it and varnish again
