Description

This product is designed to protect automotive bodywork from stone chips and the damaging effects of gasoline, oil, water, and salt. It creates a durable and flexible protective coating with a distinctive texture, offering soundproofing and sound-absorbing properties. It is free from bituminous substances and asphalt. It can be overcoated with any acrylic paints.

Substrates

The product has very good adhesion to various surfaces. It can be applied over:

  • polyester laminates,
  • polyester putties,
  • epoxy primers,
  • 2K acrylic primers,
  • steel substrates,
  • stainless steel substrates,
  • zinc coated substrates,
  • aluminium substrates,
  • wash primers,
  • plastic.

It is recommended to bake plastic panels at 50°C which helps to remove silicone from the surface.

Application process

  • Surface preparation
    • Polyester laminates: should be degreased, dry sanded (P80-P120) and degreased again.
    • Polyester putties: should be dry sanded (P120).
    • Primers: should be degreased, dry sanded (P220-P280) and degreased again.
    • Steel surfaces: should be degreased, dry sanded (P80-P120) and degreased again.
    • Stainless steel: should be degreased.
    • Aluminium and zinc surfaces: should be degreased, dulled with the abrasive cloth and degreased again.
    • Old coats: should be degreased, dry sanded (P220-P280) and degreased again.
    • Plastic surfaces: should be pre-washed with Silicone Remover Troton, scuffed with abrasive non-woven fabric, and degreased again. Due to the variety of plastics, an adhesion test should be performed.

    It is recommended to bake plastic panels at 50°C which helps to remove silicone from the surface.

    Using the UBS gun with a 4.0 mm nozzle (recommended air pressure 2-4 bar), apply two crossed coats.

    Apply at distance of 20 – 60 cm from surface.
